ā€œWithout Newcastle College, I wouldn’t be where I am today.ā€ It was a full circle moment for alum Michael Mather who came back to chat to our Performance Academy students about going from college to touring the world as Fiyero in Wicked šŸŒ Now, he’s coming home to share his own story ā¤ļø We can’t wait to watch Michael perform ā€˜365 Home Edition’ at the Custom’s House tomorrow night for a one night only honest, raw and personal show which brings his life story back to where it all began!

Just a small snippet of our Foundation Art and HE Fine Art’s Open studio work, here in the Mandela building at Newcastle College and University Centre- it’s phenomenal and the end of year show will be a must see!

Eldon Square at MIPIM 2026: Championing partnership, place and possibility šŸŽ„ Ā  We're proud to once again partner with NewcastleGateshead Initiative at the Newcastle Pavilion, bringing together public, private and cultural leaders to champion the city on a global stage. Ā  At the heart of our presence was Culture, Commerce & Creativity: The New City Playbook - a panel discussion with XPE Group, the British Fashion Council, Newcastle College, Newcastle City Council, and Eldon Square's Centre Director, Helen Cowie. The panel explored how powerful partnerships can unlock resilient growth, nurture future talent and create lasting social value for cities like Newcastle - chaired by BWP CEO Richard Beasley, who also provided the soundtrack for the evening's networking event. Ā  The conversations throughout the week reinforced one thing: when place, partnership and purpose align, the opportunities for cities are huge. Ā  Check out an incredible few days in Cannes ↓ Pradera, Alex Wright, Molly Lymn, Kelly Gleadow, Pam Smith, Dr Sarah Green OBE, Natalie Potter, Pete Cooper, Barry Cox, Andrew Dixon, John Heller, Kitty Vaughan, Olivia Telfer, Jon R., Libby Lagun, Jenny Hartley MBE, Marcus Briggs, Russell Loveland, Mark Nicholson, Jayne Rafter, Sian Kilgour, Molly Deegan
