Main stage moment!! 🎭✨ Our Performance Academy students smashed it at Newcastle Theatre Royal as part of the National Theatre Connections Festival, performing Wildfire Road by Eve Leigh - and even got invited back for a second night 👏 This is what it’s all about at Newcastle College - working with industry, building confidence and performing on real stages. Now we wait to see if they’re heading to the National Theatre in London… 👀🤞 Huge well done to all our students and staff!
Eldon Square at MIPIM 2026: Championing partnership, place and possibility 🎥 We're proud to once again partner with NewcastleGateshead Initiative at the Newcastle Pavilion, bringing together public, private and cultural leaders to champion the city on a global stage. At the heart of our presence was Culture, Commerce & Creativity: The New City Playbook - a panel discussion with XPE Group, the British Fashion Council, Newcastle College, Newcastle City Council, and Eldon Square's Centre Director, Helen Cowie. The panel explored how powerful partnerships can unlock resilient growth, nurture future talent and create lasting social value for cities like Newcastle - chaired by BWP CEO Richard Beasley, who also provided the soundtrack for the evening's networking event. The conversations throughout the week reinforced one thing: when place, partnership and purpose align, the opportunities for cities are huge. Check out an incredible few days in Cannes ↓ Pradera, Alex Wright, Molly Lymn, Kelly Gleadow, Pam Smith, Dr Sarah Green OBE, Natalie Potter, Pete Cooper, Barry Cox, Andrew Dixon, John Heller, Kitty Vaughan, Olivia Telfer, Jon R., Libby Lagun, Jenny Hartley MBE, Marcus Briggs, Russell Loveland, Mark Nicholson, Jayne Rafter, Sian Kilgour, Molly Deegan

Q&A with the legend that is @joemcelderryofficial ? Yes please ✅ Joe who is the patron of The Performance Academy popped into today for a theatre masterclass! Our students got to perform in front of him (no pressure) getting the best feedback as well as advice for life as a performer like taking rejection as redirection 🙌
What happens when a Newcastle College fashion student, a Damehood ceremony and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity come together? 💙 For Lamin Gibba, our very own Master’s student, it meant designing a bespoke outfit for Dame Chi Onwurah’s @chionwurahnclmp investiture and seeing his work worn at the Royal ceremony yesterday! These moments capture Lamin and our amazing Art and Design Resource Coordinator Lynne Purvis, as they designed and constructed the one-of-a-kind design with Chi, to celebrate her Geordie, Irish and Nigerian heritage. A moment none of us will forget and a proud day for the North East 👏
